Step 2: Preferrably use a skillet if you dont have one you can do steps 3 to 6 in a sauce pan then combine into a bowl for the rest and bake in a 9"x9" pan
Step 3: Melt butter in a skillet sauce (do not rush this or the butter can brown - butter should not lose it's color)
Step 4: Once melted turn off heat and add BOTH sugars
Step 5: Mix together with a spoon or rubber spatula until well combined
Step 6: Ensure pan cool to touch and add the 4 eggs and vanilla extract
Step 7: Using a fork whisk in the eggs and vanilla until well combined.
Step 8: If using a sauce pan you can keep everything in it and then add the dry ingredients
Step 9: Next use the spoon or spatula to stir in the cocoa powder, flour and salt
Step 10: Batter will look lumpy which is find just ensure all the dry mix is well incorporate
Step 11: Once combine and no more dry powder is visible fold in the choco chips and nuts if using
Step 12: Even out the batter in the skillet or pour into a 9"x9" pan.
