

Tomato Sauce
Quick and easy basic tomato sauce... you choose to spice it up!

Ingredients
- Tomato paste: 6 oz
- Canned Tomato sauce : 15
- Chopped onion (any will do): 1/2 cup
- Fresh minced garlic (use 1 tbs powder instead): 2 cloves
- Water: 15 at least 1 tomato sauce can full
- Italian seasoning: 1 tbs
Instructions
- Step 1: You will cook the onions first (medium heat). light oil in pan or spray it with oil. Just to translucent if they darken no worries.
- Step 2: add fresh garlic for 30 seconds. If using garlic powder wait until after the water is added
- Step 3: Add tomato paste and turn to lower heat.
- Step 4: stir around with onion and or garlic
- Step 5: once paste is broken up add tomato sauce
- Step 6: stir sauce around with the paste mixture.
- Step 7: Add one empty tomato sauce can of water.
- Step 8: let sauce reach a simmer and bring heat back to medium
- Step 9: once a simmer starts add garlic powder if you did not have fresh garlic and any italian seasoning or other dry herbs you have!
- Step 10: Stir very well as it simmer it will thicken - add more water to get the consistency you want.
- Step 11: If you want to add fresh herbs you can near the end. just chop or cut up and add.
- Step 12: Use with whatever dish you want!
